Disco Ball

A pleasure to work on. For our inaugural year with Let Them Eat Cake we designed Stage 3 including structural and lighting components. We collaborated with audio suppliers on an integrated approach featuring two Funktion1 AX88's positioned sideways.

The centrepiece was a custom 5.2-metre diameter disco ball created from mirror polished ACP from China via CNC routing. Lighting: sunstrips for daytime visibility, asymmetrically positioned strobes, two MAC 700 fixtures for nighttime prismatic effects, additional profile and wash lighting. Inside the sphere: over 80 disco balls of various sizes. Two laser units added dynamic movement effects.
